Adeyemi A. Lawal, MD, FACP, AGAF

Dr. Lawal is a graduate of the College of Medicine at the University of Lagos in Nigeria. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, New York, followed by Hepatology research and GI fellowships at both Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, New York and at Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Dr. Lawal was an assistant professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at the Medical College of Wisconsin before joining WakeMed in 2008. He is currently a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has 11 original articles and a book chapter published in various national and international journals. Dr. Lawal is a member of the American Society for Gastroenterological Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American College of Physicians and American College of Physicians Executives.

Dr. Lawal is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. His clinical interests include gastrointestinal motility disorders, anorectal disorders, GERD, inflammatory bowel disease, endoscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy. Dr. Lawal is accepting new patients 18 years and older.
