Abigail Milchuck, DNP

Abigail Milchuck is a board-certified, doctoral-prepared nurse practitioner with clinical interests in comprehensive oncology care across the cancer continuum, with a strong emphasis on palliative and supportive care. She is passionate about helping patients live longer, healthier and more fulfilling lives while navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis. She believes exceptional oncology care extends beyond treating the disease — it means caring for the whole person. She strives to compassionately guide patients through complex treatment decisions as well as the healthcare system. She earned a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Furman University in Greenville, SC and a bachelor’s degree in science in nursing from Duke University School of Nursing in Durham, NC. She then completed a doctorate focused on adult gerontology primary care through University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing in Chapel Hill, NC.

Milchuck finds the most rewarding aspect of her work to be building meaningful relationships with patients and their families. Taking time to understand each patient's values, goals and priorities enables her to provide personalized care and also to advocate for what matters most to them. She realizes that all patients deserve to feel heard, supported and empowered throughout their cancer journey. Her approach combines compassionate care, evidence-based practice and patient education to help individuals and their loved ones navigate complex decisions with confidence. Her aim is to deliver clinical excellence while fostering trust, dignity and kindness at every stage of care.

When not seeing patients, Milchuck loves to run and spend time with her friends and family, including her husband and two dogs. She also loves Carolina Hurricanes hockey.
