RALEIGH, N.C. (August 31, 2026) – WakeMed Rehabilitation Hospital has been recognized among the nation’s top inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2026, earning the #1 ranking in North Carolina for the third consecutive year.
The annual ranking, developed by Newsweek in partnership with Statista, recognizes 330 leading inpatient physical rehabilitation hospitals nationwide based on clinical quality, professional reputation, quality designations and patient experience, helping patients and families identify top-rated facilities for rehabilitation care.
“This recognition reflects the expertise, dedication and compassion our rehab team brings to every patient and family weserve,” said Beth Villena, director of WakeMed Rehabilitation Hospital. “Our patients come to us following life-changing injuries and illnesses, and our team is committed to helping them regain independence, reach their goals and return to the people and activities that matter most.”
The WakeMed Rehab Hospital, located within WakeMed Raleigh Campus, is a leading provider of comprehensive rehabilitation services in the Southeast. The 73-bed inpatient facility is nationally recognized for outstanding patient outcomes and expertise. The WakeMed Rehabilitation team of accomplished professionals specialize in treating adults and children who have experienced a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopaedic issue, trauma or limb loss through CARF-accredited programs—the highest possible level of accreditation.
The Newsweek recognition is the latest national distinction for WakeMed Rehabilitation Hospital. Earlier this year, U.S. News & World Report named WakeMed a 2026-2027 Best Hospital for Rehabilitation, ranking it #28 in the nation and #1 in the Triangle.
