The Heart Center Inn provides a convenient and comfortable place to stay for patients and their families. Located on the top floor of the WakeMed Heart Center, rooms are furnished and equipped to make your stay comfortable and include amenities found in hotels. It’s just an elevator ride away from WakeMed’s nursing units and physicians’ offices. You’re connected to expert services, and close to loved ones.

Patients especially like staying at the Inn for the convenience factor. For out-of-town patients traveling to WakeMed Raleigh Campus, and even for those in our area, the Inn offers an option to stay the night before an early-morning procedure. Patients staying at the Heart Center Inn pre-procedure can do so at a discounted rate.

Or, if the patient is discharged from the hospital at night and prefers not to travel a long-distance home, the Inn offers a comfortable option to stay over. Inn guests who are WakeMed discharged patients must be accompanied by an adult as our Inn staff does not provide medical care, transport services or escort needs.

Family members of WakeMed patients who are currently receiving care on a nursing unit within the WakeMed Raleigh Campus hospital are eligible to stay at the Inn. The Inn's close location to patient rooms provides ease and comfortable rest during an anxious time. Often, the demand for rooms exceeds the number of patients and family members desiring to stay with us. Therefore, we must limit the number of rooms offered to one room per family/patient.

Affordable Room Rates

The Heart Center Inn offers competitive room rates as well as convenience. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Payment is required at check-in. Account holder must be present and a registered guest with the Heart Center Inn. Payment for the Inn is separate from patient charges incurred in the hospital.

• Suite Room: $90/night

How to Make a Room Reservation

Reservations can be made by calling the Heart Center Inn’s reception desk at 919-350-7777.

• Check-in time: 4 pm
• Checkout time: 11 am

Guest Services

• Open daily with staff available 24 hours a day to assist guests, answer phones and take reservations.
• Spiritual Care services are available 24 hours a day. A small chapel is near the Inn, located on the hospital’s 3rd floor between 3A Cardiovascular Intermediate Care and 3B Cardiovascular Surgery Intermediate Care nursing units.
• Vending area includes snacks and cold drinks as well as an ice machine and microwave.
• WakeMed’s Café 3000 offers three meals a day and a variety of selections including grill, entrée, made-to-order sandwiches and pizza stations, a salad bar, express meals, desserts and baked goods and a variety of beverages.
• Panera Bread is located in the Raleigh Campus Commons on the first floor and offers soups, salads, sandwiches, baked goods, snacks and beverages.
• The WakeMed Gift Shop is located in the Raleigh Campus Commons on the hospital’s first floor.

Parking

Free parking for Heart Center Inn guests is provided in the parking garage adjacent to the Heart Center (P2 purple). For guests arriving on weekends or after hours, the WakeMed Heart Center's front entrance is locked. Access to the Inn is via the side entrance closest to the parking deck.

Smoking and Alcohol

All WakeMed facilities are smoke, tobacco, illegal drug and alcohol-free. No vaping or open flames (including candles) are allowed.

Children

Children under the age of 18* are welcome at the Heart Center Inn, but must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.

*Age allowed can change due to current public health status as we follow WakeMed’s hospital visitation policy.

For Our Pediatric Families

The Ronald McDonald House at WakeMed offers a comfortable place to stay and a support system for pediatric patients’ families going through a difficult medical situation. The five-bedroom ‘House’ is located within the Heart Center Inn on the WakeMed Raleigh Campus. Due to demand for these rooms, a referral from the patient’s care team is necessary for families to stay with us. To find out more about eligibility, please contact the patient’s case manager in our WakeMed Children’s care units.
