Daily Routine

Activities

Your daily schedule will include a minimum of three hours of physical, occupational, nursing and speech therapy 5 out of every 7 days. You may also be involved in neuropsychology, rehab psychology, therapeutic recreation, community reentry activities, counseling and education programs. Staff may coordinate community outings such as shopping, visiting a park, swimming or bowling.

On-Site Therapy Programs

Your therapies will occur on-site in the WakeMed Rehab Hospital. We offer comprehensive rehabilitation gyms where you will go for occupational and physical therapies. Our speech and language therapy program will help you with any speech, language, cognitive, eating/swallowing or facial movement problems.

Daily Routine

Some of our rooms are semi-private, so you might have a roomate. You will be invited to eat with other rehab patients in one of our dining rooms. Your therapy program will begin on the day after admission, and you will receive a daily therapy schedule to carry with you to your treatment sessions. The nursing staff and therapists will help you, as needed, to attend scheduled appointments.
