About Me
Dr. Amerson is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. She is currently working on an advanced fellowship program through the American Society of Bariatric Physicians to gain specialized knowledge to help her patients with personalized evidence-based weight loss strategies.
Dr. Amerson earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in Columbia, SC, and completed her residency at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where she served as chief resident. As a Park Scholar, she earned a bachelor of science degree in biochemistry and genetics from North Carolina State University. She actively participates in NC State alumni activities by mentoring undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in the medical field.
In her free time, Dr. Amerson enjoys reading, cooking, gardening and spending time with friends and family.
