Physician Bio

Dr. Parikh- Desai is a board certified internist with the American Board of Internal Medicine. She has extensive experience in preventive medicine, women's health & management of various acute & chronic medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, asthma, COPD, thyroid disorders & osteoporosis. She strongly believes in providing compassionate care to all her patients and places strong emphasis on prevention and patient education.

She earned her Bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from Government Medical College in Nagpur, India, and completed her Residency at Queens Hospital Center of Jamaica, N.Y., which is affiliated with the Long Island Jewish Medical Center and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She has been in private practice since she moved to North Carolina in 1994 & calls North Carolina her home.

A member of the American College of Physicians®, Dr. Desai has worked in private practice as well as inpatient hospital care. For 2 years she served as the sole provider at Pinnacle Internal Medicine in Raleigh, N.C., before joining The Cary Internal Medicine & Diabetes Center, in Cary, N.C. in 2006.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, music, yoga & traveling.
