RALEIGH, N.C. (July 10, 2019)

WakeMed introduces WakeMed Virtual Urgent Care, a new service that offers urgent care access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year from your mobile device or computer. WakeMed Virtual Urgent Care connects patients with a local board-certified emergency medicine specialist, family medicine physician, or highly trained advanced practice provider, ensuring high-quality care wherever you are in North Carolina — at home, at work, on the soccer field or at the beach. All you need is an internet connection and mobile device or computer.

Treating patients ages 6 months and up, this web and mobile-based approach allows adult and pediatric patients to get the care they need from providers they know and trust. This virtual care service is powered by RelyMD and staffed by Wake Emergency Physicians, PA (WEPPA) – the same providers who staff WakeMed’s seven Emergency Departments across Wake County. WakeMed Virtual Urgent Care is a low-cost alternative to urgent care or after-hours visits for non-emergency injuries and illnesses. The average wait time (without the waiting room) to connect with a provider is 10 minutes, and the WakeMed Virtual Urgent Care service is offered at a $45 flat rate fee.

No longer do you need to leave home (or your N.C. hotel or vacation rental!) to get the care you need for common conditions such as:

  • Abdominal cramps
  • Bronchitis
  • Eye Infections
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Allergies
  • Cold & Flu
  • Fever
  • Insect Bites
  • Arthritic Pain
  • Constipation
  • Gout
  • Muscle Pains
  • Mild Asthma
  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Rashes
  • And More . . .
