No Disruption in Aetna Insurance Coverage at WakeMed Cary Hospital

RALEIGH, N.C. (April 24, 2023) — WakeMed was recently notified that Aetna mistakenly sent letters dated April 17, 2023, to members in our area notifying them that WakeMed Cary Hospital was out of network as of January 1, 2023. WakeMed has confirmed with Aetna that these letters were sent in error and that Cary Hospital remains in network as do all WakeMed facilities and providers, and there has been no disruption in service. Aetna will be sending a correction.
