We are pleased to announce that Jeff Neisen, MBA, joined WakeMed as vice president, Revenue Cycle, on January 9.

Neisen comes to WakeMed from SCL Health (now part of Intermountain Health), an eight-hospital, 200-clinic system based in Colorado, where he has served as senior director of billing & accounts receivable since January 2017, with responsibility for numerous system-wide revenue cycle operations. Prior to SCL Health, Neisen spent almost nine years at Duke University Health System and, before that, worked as a senior managed care specialist at WakeMed from 2000 to 2003.

In his new role, Neisen will be responsible for WakeMed’s revenue cycle governance and alignment, including processes surrounding pricing and billing, coding, collections and associated financial services. He will have oversight for the Health Information Management, Billing, Collections and Cash Posting departments as well as the registration areas of Patient Access, supporting a strong team of directors, managers and staff.

As a member of our system executive team, Neisen will collaborate with leaders across the organization to support revenue cycle governance that ensures processes are patient centered, highly efficient and will facilitate future system growth.

He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Campbell University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Carolina – Wilmington.
