WakeMed Raleigh Campus
WakeMed Raleigh Campus is a tertiary care community hospital. It is WakeMed’s flagship facility and leading provider of advanced health care services. Since its opening in 1961, WakeMed Raleigh Campus has been a front-runner in one-of-a kind services and technological innovation with an outstanding commitment to care and healing.
WakeMed Raleigh Campus Inpatient and Acute ICU Care
The Raleigh Campus has 567 acute beds and a 98-bed rehabilitation hospital, serving patients from Wake County and the surrounding areas. Inpatient wards include brain and spine, children’s, trauma, heart and vascular, orthopaedics, surgery and women’s health.
WakeMed Raleigh Campus has eight intensive care units housing more than 175 critical care beds, including neonatal, pediatric, medical, cardiac, cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, surgery/trauma and neuro.
WakeMed Raleigh Campus Features and Distinctions
WakeMed Raleigh carries the distinction for the 8th highest volume emergency room visits in the United States. This makes it possible for our residents to treat a wide range of patient conditions as well as a diverse patient population, including urban, suburban and rural patients; patients of different ethnicities; and those of varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
We proudly offer the highest-level services for women’s care, children’s care, cardiac care, surgery, neurosciences and physical rehabilitation. In 2022, WakeMed Raleigh Campus clinical teams delivered 4,308 babies, and the Emergency Department at WakeMed Raleigh Campus saw over 133,000 patients.
WakeMed North Hospital
WakeMed North Hospital provides exceptional patient care to those residing in the growing north Raleigh, N.C. area. This 61-bed hospital delivers inpatient and outpatient care, including state-of-the-art childbirth facilities, a Level III special care nursery and medical and surgical services.
Full-Service Emergency Room, Community Hospital
In the past year, over 1,600 births have occurred at WakeMed North Hospital. The full-service emergency department provides 24/7 care for the entire family, backed by Wake County's only Level I Trauma Center and WakeMed Children's Hospital, both located at WakeMed Raleigh Campus. In fact, the Emergency Department at WakeMed North Hospital saw 48,000 patients in 2022.
Additional services include day surgery, outpatient imaging, laboratory and outpatient rehabilitation services and a growing network of physicians.
Our Ambulatory Facilities
WakeMed owns and operates three stand-alone Healthplexes in the growing Apex, Brier Creek and Garner communities. Residents will have longitudinal clinics in healthplexes throughout Wake County. Healthplexes offer outpatient options for patients, including a 24/7, full-service Emergency Department; imaging services; outpatient laboratory; and physician offices.
WakeMed Physician Practices are a thriving and growing network of primary care, specialty care and urgent care offices, with over 165 locations throughout Wake County.
