Kevin Rooney, PA-C

Kevin Rooney is a board-certified physician assistant with clinical interests in trauma and general surgery. Rooney completed his bachelor’s in biology with a minor in chemistry at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut, and obtained his master’s in physician assistant studies at the University of Bridgeport Physician Assistant Institute in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Before becoming a member of the WakeMed family, Rooney worked as a physician assistant in thoracic surgery. Kevin has experience in VATS, robotic, laparoscopic and open surgery.

Rooney strives to always put himself in his patient’s shoes by listening closely and communicating effectively. Outside of work, Rooney enjoys working on his car and hiking.
