Ava Rio-Anderson, PT, DPT

Ava Rio-Anderson is a physical therapist with clinical interests in pediatrics, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, pediatric pelvic health and adult pelvic health. She additionally has specialty training in pediatric bowel and bladder disorders. She earned her bachelor of science in exercise and sports science with a concentration in health and wellness at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC. She went on to complete her doctorate in physical therapy at Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC.

Rio-Anderson enjoys figuring out the "why" behind any movement dysfunction or impairment. She takes the time to get to know the whole person and believes patients are not defined by their impairments or diagnoses. Utilizing the principles of motor learning, neuroplasticity and fundamental movement patterns, she works to improve patients' functional capacity.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Will, and their dog, Walt. She also likes weight lifting, reading, hiking and going to the beach.
