About Me

Stacy Kropp is a certified physician assistant who specializes in surgical weight loss, nutrition, and wellness. Before attending physician assistant school, she practiced as a registered dietitian helping people improve their health through nutrition. She joined the WakeMed Physician Practices General Surgery team in 2017 and continued working to improve the health and wellness of patients as a physician assistant. With the WakeMed Bariatric Surgery and Medical Weight Loss team, she is focused on helping patients prevent, slow, and/or reverse weight-related medical problems.

Stacy completed her undergraduate studies, earned a Master of Public Health, and completed a dietetic internship at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She practiced as a clinical dietitian for nearly a decade before becoming a physician assistant. She earned a Master of Physician Assistant Practice from Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, where she deepened her passion for practicing evidence-based, patient and family centered care.

Stacy offers one-on-one sessions to guide patients through their pre-operative journey, preparing patients for surgery and beyond with education and guidance, by tailoring nutrition, fitness, and wellness plans to help patients meet their goals. She also assists during surgery and guides the patients’ post-operative courses while in the hospital, in the months following surgery, and for years to come as they continue their journey toward better health.

Outside of the hospital and clinic, Stacy enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as CrossFit training and running.
