Common GI Conditions We Treat

Our Locations:

Our Physicians:

As specialists in gastroenterology and hepatology, we know that digestive disease can be disruptive and can impact our patients' quality of life.  As such, we strive to quickly diagnose and treat our patients using evidenced-based medicine. As a private practice of WakeMed Health & Hospitals, we perform both diagnostic testing and surgical procedures at the WakeMed Raleigh Campus.

We work closely with patients to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal disorders so that our patients can return to a normal, healthy life as quickly as possible. We treat a wide variety of conditions with the most advanced treatment options available.

Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Gastroenterology is the study of medicine focusing on disorders of the stomach, intestines and associated organs. Hepatology is the study of medicine focusing on the liver, gallbladder, biliary tree and pancreas, and the management of related disorders. Since the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology are closely related, they are often studied together. The study of gastroenterology and/or hepatology often involve common conditions such as colon polyps and cancer, hepatitis, peptic ulcer disease, heartburn (gastronesophageal reflux), colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), gallbladder and biliary tract disease and pancreatitis. Gastroenterologists and hepatologists have dedicated training and specific experience in managing and treating these conditions.
