Employee Assistance Program

All employees and their immediate family members are eligible for confidential assessments, short-term counseling and referral services with licensed professionals through our employee assistance program (administered by BHS) at no charge. WakeMed Virtual Urgent Care

WM Virtual Urgent Care

Feeling bad? Get the care you need for common illnesses wherever you are - at home, in the pool, on the soccer field, at work or at school. WakeMed Virtual Urgent Care is staffed by the dedicated providers from WakeMed Physicians Practices, the same local, trusted providers who staff our urgent care locations. WakeMed MyChart makes it easy to schedule an urgent care video visit from wherever you are – for a $45 flat fee. 

  • Providers treat patients age four months and up.
  • Appointments are generally available within 30 minutes.
  • Providers are available 8 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week, excluding some holidays.

Employee Health Concierge Service

Need to get connected with a primary care or specialty care provider? Need a same-day urgent care appointment? The WakeMed Employee Health Concierge Service is here to help. This service makes it simple for our employees to connect with services within the WakeMed network of physician practices. The Concierge Line can assist you with establishing a primary care provider, coordinating same-day and in-person urgent care visits, connecting with specialty services, accessing virtual behavioral health services, and much more.

Healthworks

HealthWorks Stationary Bike Rider

With convenient locations at WakeMed Raleigh Campus and HealthPark at Kildaire (adjacent to Cary Hospital), Healthworks is a medically based fitness center offering a broad range of exercise and educational programs. Healthworks provides you with an exercise experience that is friendly, safe and fun. Plus, our qualified health professionals will help you work towards your health and personal fitness goals. Memberships are just $30 per month (payroll deduction available) and includes a fitness consultation, the fitness center and group exercise classes.

Area merchants work with WakeMed to offer employees discounts on a wide variety of products and services. WakeMed does not endorse any businesses, but wishes to educate employees about the valuable benefits available to them. Compensation & Pay Periods

As part of the hiring process, you will receive an official offer letter and new employee paperwork via email from the WakeMed Travel Staffing team. Please review this information thoroughly as it includes many important details about your new job and salary information, including a clear summary of your hourly pay rate, per diems, estimated applicable taxes and net take-home pay.

WakeMed issues paychecks every other Thursday. Depending on when your first day of work falls in the pay period schedule, it may be several weeks before you receive your first paycheck. Your offer letter will tell you when to expect your first paycheck.

The Pharmacy

The Pharmacy

The WakeMed Outpatient Pharmacy fills prescription medications and offers a wide variety of over-the-counter products. The Pharmacy accepts payroll deduction through WakeMed ID badges, cash, credit and debit cards as well as flex spending cards. Employees can elect to have their prescriptions sent off site for pick-up either at the Cary Pharmacy, North Hospital Pharmacy, to their WakeMed office via courier or through mail delivery.
