Breastfeeding Support Group

Breast FeedingEffective September 13, 2021, our Breastfeeding Support Groups will meet in-person, every Monday from 10 am – 11:30 am at WakeMed Corporate Center at Highwoods and every Wednesday from 2 pm – 3:30 pm at WakeMed Apex Healthplex.

These FREE support groups are staffed by certified lactation counselors and consultants and are designed for moms and breastfeeding (or breast milk feeding) babies from birth through the first year of life.

We offer an opportunity to weigh and feed your baby, along with an open, supportive forum to talk about the challenges and joys of breastfeeding. Also, we know getting out of the house can be hard for new moms, so please feel free to come as you are, and it is OK to arrive late.

Due to physical distancing and space, we now require a pre-registration along with a wait list. Please register for Breastfeeding Support Group here

Please note: We follow all COVID guidelines regarding disinfecting before and after your arrival and physical distancing. Masks will be required. Also, we will follow Wake County School System’s calendar for holidays as well as closings-delays decisions.

If you have any further questions or need additional Breastfeeding Resources, please email Christina Williams at CHWILLIAMS@wakemed.org.

Call 919-350-8235 or email Deborah Cearnel for more information.
