Welcome to the Team!

All WakeMed employees, including those hired through WakeMed Travel Staffing, are required to complete New Employee Orientation. In this day-long session, you will learn about our mission, culture and expectations for all staff. We want you to succeed in your new role at WakeMed, and New Employee Orientation will help you get started on the right foot.

Depending on your role, you may need to attend additional days of clinical orientation or training in your first week. You will receive a detailed overview of what to expect during week one at New Employee Orientation.

Department Onboarding

All travel agency staff will also complete departmental orientation, which is important in helping you acclimate to your new work environment and your team. Your manager or supervisor will lead you through departmental orientation during your first week and help you acclimate to the Wake Way and everything you need to be successful at WakeMed.

Departments that work with travel staff have well-established onboarding procedures and will provide everything you need to be successful from day one. Our travel staff consistently recognizes WakeMed for our exceptional onboarding and orientation process – and we think you’ll find that the process is seamless, thorough and welcoming.

Ongoing Support

In addition to your department leadership, you will receive support and guidance from the WakeMed Travel Staffing team. This team is committed to ensuring you have a positive experience at WakeMed and will check in with you periodically throughout your contract. If you have any questions, please contact us.
