Burn Treatment & Reconstruction

The trauma caused by second and third degree burns is painful — both physically and emotionally. At WakeMed Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, we care about the entire patient. Our team is specially trained and technologically equipped to give our patients hope and healing.

Severe burns can leave unsightly scars that limit mobility and make the patient uneasy about participating in daily life. Our WakeMed Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery team can repair burn scars and deformities to improve range of motion in muscles and joints and improve the patient's personal appearance.

The surgeries are performed using a variety of operative procedures, which may require multiple treatments as well as wound care.

The ultimate goal is that the patient will have an improved quality of life.
