About Me
Christi is an experienced physical therapist who specializes in treating women with pelvic health issues such as bladder and bowel dysfunction (urgency urgency/frequency/leakage and constipation), pelvic pain (including pregnancy-related pain), and postpartum recovery of pelvic floor function and core stability. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Medical University of South Carolina in 1998 and her doctorate degree at Simmons College in 2007.
Christi chose a career in physical therapy because she was drawn to helping people regain their independence and manage the physical challenges they encounter in extraordinary circumstances as well as in everyday life. She helped establish WakeMed’s Pelvic Health program opening the Pelvic Health Clinic at WakeMed Cary Outpatient Specialty Services in 2017. Christi is dedicated to this patient population and to dispelling the myth that pelvic floor dysfunction is a normal part of human development (as a result of childbearing or aging). Outside of work, Christi is busy chauffeuring her children to extracurricular activities.
