Patient Information

As primary care providers, we work with hundreds of active families. Our team brings a wealth of expertise in sports medicine, from both a preventive perspective and on the treatment side.

Whether you or your family needs help managing a minor injury or diagnosing and treating exercise, work-related or sports injuries, our physicians are here to help.

Common Sports Medicine Conditions

  • Tendonitis: Inflammation of the tendons is common and can cause serious pain in a number of areas including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee and ankle.
  • Impingement Syndrome: This condition affects the shoulder and causes pain when reaching above the back or overhead.
  • Osteoarthritis: This common type of arthritis is caused by the breakdown of cartilage in your joints and impacts more than 20 million Americans.
  • Back Injury: Many sports injuries impact the upper or lower back, causing acute or chronic pain.
  • Shin Splints: Often caused by running, dancing or athletic activity, shin splints occur when there is an overload of stress on the shinbone and surrounding connective tissues.
  • Plantar Fasciitis: This condition is caused by painful inflammation of the plantar fascia, which is the connective tissue near the arch of your foot.

These conditions and many other sports medicine-related conditions and injuries can cause serious discomfort for our patients. Preventing injury is the best approach to sports medicine. Our physicians can provide valuable advice for avoiding sports injury for both kids and adults who live an active lifestyle.

If you suffer from these or any other work, exercise-related or sports injuries, please schedule an appointment. Our sports medicine specialists can provide a comprehensive evaluation and treatment, and can also refer you to either a rehabilitation specialist or orthopaedic doctor if necessary.
