NICU

WakeMed Cary Hospital has a NICU that provides care for babies needing short-term intensive care. The facility shares a full-time staff of highly skilled neonatologists and 24-hour neonatal nurse practitioners with our Raleigh Campus.

If necessary, babies can easily be transferred to the Raleigh Campus for a higher level of medical care via our specially equipped Children's Transport Team. If a baby is transferred to the Raleigh Campus, we also make every effort to transfer the mother to the Women's Pavilion & Birthplace - Raleigh so she can complete her post-partum stay closer to her child.
