Application Instructions & Checklist

  1. Apply online

    Physician Assistant, Resident Surgery and Trauma

  2. Once you've applied online, please send an email to PAResidency@wakemed.org to let us know.  This will help us track all of your information.
  3. In order for your application to be considered complete, the following items are also needed: 
    • Physician Assistant program diploma (if applicable)
    • PANCE/PANRE certification (if applicable)
    • State licensures (if applicable)
    • Resume/CV (this may be uploaded when you apply for the position)
    • Transcripts (both undergrad & PA school)
    • Three (3) Reference Forms - These forms should be returned directly to our office using the mailing address provided.  Your references must include a PA Program faculty member and at least one supervising/precepting MD.
    • Essay - In one (1) page or less, please answer the following statement:  Please discuss your interest in pursuing additional training in a trauma, critical care, and general surgical physician assistant residency program.  Please also include any goals or ambitions.
