Flu & Cold Season Can Be A Monster

Flu is prevalent in our community right now. Visit our Flu Resource Center to learn about flu prevention, signs and symptoms, and help us protect our patients, families and staff from RSV and the flu by following these visitation restrictions.

  • No visitors under the age of 12 are allowed in patient care areas.
  • Please do not visit patients if you are experiencing fever, vomiting, diarrhea or cold or flu-like symptoms.

Wheels Up: Navigating the Airport & Airplane by Wheelchair

What You'll Learn

Attendees will learn about:

  • Terminal parking
  • Ticketing
  • Security
  • Baggage claim
  • Transfers (aisle chair, airplane seat, back to wheelchair)
  • Storage of your wheelchair

Plus, listen to a panel of travelers who use wheelchairs share their insights and experience a TSA screening.

Individuals who use wheelchairs and their families/caregivers are welcome to attend.

To register, please send an email with your contact information to bscolio@wakemed.org or call 919-350-5240. Please specify if you plan to participate in the TSA screening.

Parking

Give yourself plenty of time to park. FREE parking, courtesy of RDU Airport. Bring your parking ticket to the event. Go to the main level of Terminal 2 (where ticketing occurs) and representatives will help you find your way to the Heritage Room.
