The WakeMed Physician Practices - Pediatric Endocrinology program provides consultation and accepts referrals for the care for children with endocrine problems including:
Disorders of Pubertal Development
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
Disorders of Calcium and Phosphorus Metabolism
Disorders of Carbohydrate Metabolism Including Hypoglycemia
Diabetes including Type 1, Type 2, Neonatal, and MODY

Emergency On-Call Process If you see a child in your office with new onset diabetes mellitus or are in need of an immediate endocrine consult, call WakeMed's 'Provider to Provider' service at 919-350-4P2P (350-4727) to be connected to the Pediatric Endocrinology provider on call. Our provider will decide whether your patient needs hospitalization or can be seen in our outpatient office.
