Physician Bio

Dr. Michael Brown is a board certified pediatrician working for WakeMed as a pediatric hospitalist.  He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine and completed his residency training in pediatrics at the UNC Children’s Hospital.  A recipient of the prestigious UNC School of Medicine’s Davis Scholarship, Dr. Brown was honored for “his scholarly approach to medicine, sensitivity toward children, ability to create trusting relationships with patients and families, high moral standards and ethical values, and passion for enhancing the well-being of children everywhere.”   

Prior to medical school, Dr. Brown completed an undergraduate degree in Economics at Brandeis University as well as a post-baccalaureate premedical program at the Harvard University Extension School.  In 2011, Dr. Brown also earned his master’s degree in public health from the UNC School of Public Health.

With clinical interests in hospitalist medicine and medical education, Dr. Brown joined WakeMed in 2015 after serving as an attending physician at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.  He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and a member of the AAP Section on Hospitalist Medicine.
