About Me

Dr. Laura Dosier is dual board-certified in pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine. She has clinical interests in sleep disordered breathing, children dependent on technology due to lung and airway disease, chronic lung disease of premature infants, and asthma. She completed her undergraduate education at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California and attended medical school at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Dr. Dosier completed fellowships in both pediatric pulmonary and sleep medicine after finishing her residency as a pediatric chief resident.

Dr. Dosier has wanted to be a doctor for as long as she can remember after having had strong physician role models in her life that worked tirelessly to take care of their patients, families and the community. She feels fortunate to be doing what she loves and taking care of children with breathing problems and sleep disordered breathing. Dr. Dosier believes in using the best medical evidence to assess and treat each patient while listening to the needs of the individual and their family.

In her free time, Dr. Dosier enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children and extended family. Together they enjoy playing board games, riding bikes and swimming.

Dr. Dosier is always wonderful, but my daughter was not being cooperative at this visit and Dr. Dosier was so patient and understanding. It is obvious that she truly cares and wants the best! Dr. Dosier helps us understand medication and side effects so we can fully understand everything.

Dr Dosier had excellent interpersonal skills, making both my child and my husband very comfortable and including them in the discussion. She inspired our 8 year old to take an active role in managing his disease and to feel confident about his skills to manage it and overcome it. That is what healing is all about and it is priceless. Both Dr. Dosier and her nurse Sara have been excellent. We were having problems locating a CPAP mask that fit my son properly and they were able to find one and provide it to us. Dr. Dosier listened about all the concerns and issues we have had adjusting to putting my son on CPAP and the frustration of finding a mask to fit his small face. She looked up several options and even tried to find someone who could customize one using 3D printing. I have seen several other pulmonologists at other children’s hospitals in the triangle area and I would say Dr. Dosier is the best!
