For Our Employees
I am the Wake Way…Every Time!
This year, WakeMed is introducing our new Wake Way every-time behaviors, which are an important part of our Wake Way 2 Excellence journey. By embracing and demonstrating these behaviors – respect for people, communication, teamwork and commitment & accountability – we have the opportunity to strengthen our unique culture, pursue our aspirational goals and, most importantly, improve the care we deliver to our patients and their families. Look for much more information in staff meetings, Microscope and the WakeMed Weekly.
Zika Virus: Resources Online; Updated Travel Screening Questions
To date there have been no documented cases of Zika in North Carolina, however, with the Zika virus frequently in the news and on the minds of many, we want to make you aware of some resources and the steps we are taking to ensure staff and patients have current information about this virus:
- The travel screening questions within Epic have been updated to screen female patients between the ages of 15 and 44 for possible exposure to the Zika virus. These updates are currently being implemented in physician practices, emergency departments and Labor & Delivery areas with plans to expand to all portals of entry as soon as possible.
- A Zika virus page has been added to the WakeMed website. It includes general information about Zika and resources for patients and health care providers.
