Kimberly McCrudden Erickson, MD, is a pediatric surgeon with clinical interests in pediatric abdominal and thoracic surgery, caring for patients in Raleigh and North Raleigh, NC.

She completed her pediatric surgery fellowship at University of Michigan and stayed on as faculty for several years following training. Dr. Erickson joined the faculty at the University of North Carolina in 2010, where she served as a clinical associate professor of surgery and the medical director of pediatric trauma.
Dr. Erickson enjoys sharing her knowledge on various topics related to pediatric surgery. She has published countless articles, spoken at meetings across the US, and presented to students and physicians during lectures and grand rounds.
Dr. Erickson's philosophy is to care for all children as if they were her own. Central to this is clear communication with families about the indications for any surgery, as well as details about the procedure and recovery. She will offer operation only when indicated by symptoms or disease, and minimize imaging and testing when a clinical exam will suffice.
