About Me

Dr. Jeff Kantor is a pediatric gastroenterologist with clinical interests in inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and general pediatric gastroenterology.

After graduating from medical school, Dr. Kantor completed a surgical internship, a pediatric internship and residency. Over the years, he has served as a Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinical Instructor and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Most recently, Dr. Kantor served as an Assistant Professor and the Division Director of Pediatric Gastroenterology at the University of Missouri Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

In addition, Dr. Kantor has conducted research, was instrumental in a Celiac Disease screening improvement project, and has presented on several topics related to Pediatric Gastroenterology. He was recognized for his hard work and dedication in 2012 when he was presented with the Hero Award from the University of Missouri Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

In his spare time, Dr. Kantor enjoys reading, physical exercise, sports and spending time with his wife and children.

Dr. Kantor and all of his staff (clinical, scheduling and billing) were all very capable, caring and efficient. He took time to connect with my daughter & include her in the process to evaluate her condition and make medical decisions. This practice and physician was one of the best experiences I have had with a health care provider and I am very picky!

I don’t remember our nurses name, I wish I did, but she was amazing with [NAME]. So sweet, so patient, treated him as if he were one of her own family members, and it put my anxieties to ease. [NAME] and I both had an easier time because of her kindness and compassion. She is 100% meant to work with children.

Our visit with Dr Kantor was excellent. He took his time to listen to us and answered all of our questions with no rush. He gave us options on how to continue and supported our decision. Dr. Kantor's nurse (sorry I do not remember her name ) was amazing. She was personable and professional. She was wonderful speaking with my son and was efficient and thorough.

The nurse and Dr. Kantor were both very punctual and very friendly. My other child saw Dr. Kantor several years ago and he was excellent, so we came back for my daughter. Even though that was over four years ago, he still remembered my son and asked how he was!

Brenda and the receptionist are always very polite and friendly. Dr. Kantor is always very patient and caring and very thorough with explaining things even if some things are still unknown. We appreciate being able to ask questions. While we still are in a diagnostic stage and not completely sure of what is exactly wrong, we feel our child is getting great care. He is a teenager and given the nature of the issues he's not too uneasy going to his appointments since he is comfortable with the staff. They really try to make sure he is at ease.

Our intake nurse was extremely attentive and thorough and Dr. Kantor was amazing at going through our condition meticulously to get to the best course of treatment that is already having favorable results after 6mo of pain for my daughter. Thank you!!

Yes, the care provided by Dr. Kantor was OUTSTANDING! We've been working with Dr. Kantor for about 5 months and he has been wonderful in all the ways one can hope a Dr to be. He really listens and is compassionate. Dr. Kantor is also trauma informed in his care of his patients. This is a rarity among Dr's and I think he should be recognized for his expertise in treating what is seen and what is not seen in terms of physical symptoms and how trauma can impact the body. Please allow him to share his knowledge with others at WakeMed. We need more Dr's like Dr. Kantor.
