Dr. Chappell

Physician - Wake Orthopaedics

As an athlete, I loved playing soccer. And now as an orthopedic surgeon, I can carry that passion onto the field with the Carolina RailHawks as their medical director and team physician. Working with high level athletes has become a lifestyle more than anything else. It’s a huge commitment to manage all of the medical issues for the team. My goal is to help them prevent injuries and when injuries do happen, get them back on the field as quickly as possible.

When you perform surgery, you most often remember the difficult surgeries. And when you have a patient with a simple case come up to you years later and thank you for making a difference in their lives, it comes full circle.

Seeing people recover after a musculoskeletal issue, seeing their success, and knowing you had a hand in it is what it’s all about. We have a great team of physicians, nurses, technicians, and care providers at WakeMed who are dedicated to the same cause: providing excellent care to everyone in our community.
