I can’t imagine a much better feeling than bringing a baby into the world. Delivering a healthy baby to a family – it’s magical. Taking care of generations of patients from the grandmother to her daughter and then her daughter - the joy of seeing generations of life happen - it’s an incredible feeling. But also comforting those who have lost their babies, helping them, holding their hand … it’s so important.

As a woman, I have either experienced most problems my patients are dealing with or will go through them at some point – and this personal connection allows me to put myself in their shoes as their doctor. It helps me guide my patients through what they are experiencing. It’s a natural fit, and it makes me want our entire staff to be the best we can be.

I’ve had many mentors throughout my life – teachers, doctors, church leaders – who’ve shaped who I am today. They instilled in me the desire to give back with that same care and compassion, and that’s why I became a doctor. It’s all about connecting with patients and the celebration of life.
