NC Hospital Emergency Management Council, Capital Regional Advisory Committee (CapRAC)

I grew up in Kenya, East Africa, and I’ve seen how a community in a developing country struggles without the basic necessities. When you have your health, you have it all.

When you don’t, and you add financial challenges and other burdens to the equation, it’s that much harder for someone to recover after a disaster. That’s why I serve with a network of healthcare professionals from all over the state to coordinate the healthcare resources our communities need to survive and thrive in the face of adversity.

Being a leader in developing this critical infrastructure for our entire state drives me to make sure WakeMed’s emergency and disaster planning efforts are coordinated with every other hospital system in North Carolina. Exceptionally talented people work together to focus on one mission, one goal: making sure our community is prepared to respond quickly to any disaster that comes. That’s what I do. It’s who I am.
