Dr. Humayun Kadir is a board-certified family medicine physician with clinical interests in family practice and geriatric medicine, with special interests in weight management, disease prevention and managing chronic conditions. Dr. Kadir has spent more than a decade in private practice caring for families in Mt. Olive, NC. He is fellowship-trained in both geriatrics and Family medicine and completed a residency in family medicine at University Health Systems/Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, NC. As a family practitioner and geriatrician, Dr. Kadir strives to provide his patients with the highest level of evidence-based care while maintaining a great doctor-patient relationship where open and honest communication is key.
He enjoys building long-lasting relationships and is committed to educating his patients, helping suggest lifestyle changes with a combination of medical therapies as needed.
Dr. Kadir enjoys helping patients manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. He is also skilled in weight management, overall prevention of disease, and achieving outstanding health of his patients – with a focus on eliminating unnecessary medications whenever possible. As a geriatrician, he works with his older patients to keep them independent in their older age. He feels that it is important to listen to and respect a patient's concerns, and that an informed patient and doctor can make the most improvement in a patient’s healthcare. Dr. Kadir speaks Bengali, Hindi and Urdu. In his free time, he enjoys travelling, biking, music and playing badminton and table tennis.
