KC Uwakwe is a board certified nurse practitioner specializing in family practice with experience caring for patients across numerous specialty areas – including cardiovascular, intensive care, home health, behavioral health and primary care. He has held nursing roles in numerous local hospitals including WakeMed, UNC Hospitals, Harnett Health System, Johnston Medical Center and Holly Hill Hospital.

After over a decade of hands-on nursing experience that began at WakeMed in 2005 as a certified nurse aide, KC earned his degree to become a licensed family nurse practitioner in 2017 and his doctorate degree in nursing practice from Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, NC in 2018. He joined WakeMed Physician Practices in 2018 and now sees patients at our Forestville Crossing primary and urgent care office in Raleigh.

KC believes in the power of a trusting relationship. He strives to gain his patients' trust by taking the time to listen to their unique stories in order to form an effective partnership in managing diseases and promoting health.

KC was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society in 2016. He is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Psychological Association, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association and the North Carolina Nurses Association. In his free time, KC enjoys travelling and spending quality time with his wife of 14 years, three daughters and a son. He also finds his inner peace by playing the drums at his local church.
