  • No visitors under the age of 12 are allowed in patient care areas.
  • Please do not visit patients if you are experiencing fever, vomiting, diarrhea or cold or flu-like symptoms.

Personal Training

A Healthworks Personal Trainer will:

  • Be a certified, knowledgeable fitness professional
  • Perform a fitness assessment that evaluates cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility
  • Help you safely start and maintain an effective, personalized exercise program based on your specific needs and goals
  • Be a source of motivation and encouragement
  • Be a resource for the latest objective health and fitness information

Will Avery

Will obtained his B.S. in Kinesiology (Fitness Leadership) from UNC-G.

He enjoys working with all populations, especially those who are at risk for developing chronic disease.

Will enjoys an active lifestyle, whether he is in the gym or spending time outdoors with his chocolate lab. He strives to educate and encourage active lifestyles throughout the community.

Hope Choplin

Hopeis a graduate of ECU, receiving both her B.S. and M.S in Exercise Physiology.

She is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Hope specializes in diseased populations, especially individuals with heart disease, diabetes, or post-stroke; however, she enjoys training a variety of individuals and fitness levels.

Kanisha Deas

Kanisha earned a B.S. in Kinesiology (Fitness Leadership) from UNC-G, with a double minor in health and Spanish.

She is an AFAA certified Group Exercise Instructor and teaches a variety of classes. Kanisha finds happiness in the success of people reaching their fitness goals and believes if you want someone to model a behavior you too must live in that behavior.

Kelsey Strack

Kelsey earned her B.S. as a Health Fitness Specialist and her M.S. in Exercise Physiology at ECU, and completed an internship with WakeMed’s Cardiac Rehab program. She is an ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist. Kelsey enjoys working with a variety of individuals and believes exercise should be a fun and rewarding experience!

Connor Torruella

Connor earned his B.S. in Health and Fitness at ECU, where he was a placekicker on the football team. He completed an internship with WakeMed’s Cardiac Rehab program prior to joining the staff. He enjoys working with individuals who are interested in working towards a healthier and more active lifestyle.

Hailee Wingfield

Hailee earned her B.S. in Exercise and Sports Science at Meredith College and her M.A. in Exercise Physiology from UNC-CH. She is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist and an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor and Health Coach.

She enjoys helping people achieve their health and wellness goals, and especially loves to empower women through strength training.
