Thank you in advance for your commitment to serving the patients and families of your congregation here at WakeMed. Ordained ministers serving as leaders of local faith groups within a 50-mile radius of WakeMed should apply for a Clergy Badge. Once approved, you will have free parking at WakeMed and have the ability to visit your parishioners during visiting hours.
The completed application, including certification, should be turned in at the WakeMed Visitor's Information Desk in the main lobby of the hospital or mailed to the following address: Department of Spiritual Care, 3000 New Bern Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27610
Please call the Department of Spiritual Care at 919-350-8556 if you have any questions. You will receive a letter from the department once your application has been approved or not approved. We appreciate your patience as this process may take a few weeks. Please feel free to stop by the Spiritual Care office on the 4th floor of the Medical Office Building (adjacent to the main hospital) to check the status of your application if you did not receive a letter.
Enclosed with your letter will be a Clergy ID Authorization form that you will take with you to the Public Safety Office* to have the Clergy ID Badge made. ID Badges are made Tuesday through Friday, 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Public Safety Office, located on the 2nd floor of the Medical Office Building.
Once issued a WakeMed Clergy Badge, your parking pass will be validated at the front desk. Remember, you are required to have your badge with you in order to get your parking pass stamped.
