Emily Miller is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner who joined WakeMed Physician Practices - Pediatrics after working as a registered staff nurse in pediatrics at WakeMed, where she was charge nurse for a 35-bed unit. She has been a member of WakeMed's Continuous Quality Improvement Team since 2009. Previously, Miller was a registered pediatric staff nurse at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, N.C.

Miller received her master's degree in nursing to become a pediatric nurse practitioner from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

A Pediatric Advanced Life Support provider and Basic Life Support Healthcare provider, Miller is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing. In 2011, Miller served on a medical mission trip to Uganda through Arise Africa International.  Her special interests include asthma and diabetes.
