Biography

Dr. Patrick Hranitzky is a board certified cardiac electrophysiologist who specializes in cardiac arrhythmias, catheter ablations and heart rhythm disorders. Additionally, he has interests in the evaluation and management of cardiac dyssynchrony in heart failure patients, extraction of ICD/pacemaker hardware, and genomics/proteomics of electrophysiologic phenotypes. An accomplished researcher, Dr. Hranitzky has written and co-authored many articles in the area of electrophysiology. He chose to join WakeMed because of the outstanding cardiology services available here as well as the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, expert physicians and excellent nursing staff.

“WakeMed is on the leading edge of cardiac care. Our doctors and nurses are committed to patient care and excellent outcomes – we work as a multidisciplinary team to provide the highest quality of care possible,” explained Dr. Hranitzky. “Not only that, we are committed to helping people who otherwise might not have any options.” Personally, Dr. Hranitzky makes it a priority to spend ample time with each of his patients, explaining their condition on a level they can understand and detailing their options. “I give good, honest information and together, we decide the best course of treatment.”

As a cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Hranitzky enjoys being able to see and care for patients of all ages as well as being able to follow patients in their care over the course of years. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, running, hiking and any activity that involves being outdoors.
