Dr. Loretta Kaus Tibbels, MD is a family medicine physician with clinical interests in family and internal medicine, women’s health, and management of chronic health conditions.

Prior to beginning her career in medicine, she was a chemical engineer. It was during this time that she realized she enjoyed the process of thinking of things logically and learning about disease processes, and she discovered medicine was her true love. After finishing medical school she completed a residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE, and has been working as a family medicine physician ever since.

Dr. Tibbels values the importance of the family practice model. She believes developing relationships with both her patients and their families as a whole allows her to help take care of them in the best way. She has a team approach where she is the coach and her team (the patient) work to make decisions together.

Dr. Tibbels grew up in Raleigh, and enjoys traveling, reading and watching NCSU athletics.
