Physician Bio

Dr. Dwijesh (DJ) Patel is an interventional cardiologist with expertise in treating both coronary heart and peripheral vascular patients. He appreciates the intellectual side of medicine and the procedural side of surgery. “To me, an interventional cardiologist has the perfect blend of these two features. I am able to help patients and families get through their toughest days and I feel blessed to have these opportunities.”

Dr. Patel specializes in the management of a wide array of cardiovascular diseases including coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, lipid disorders, valvular heart disease, heart failure and peripheral vascular disease. He is a cardiovascular-trained interventionist able to perform complex coronary interventions, but Dr. Patel has special interest in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease with minimally invasive endovascular techniques. He has a passion for treating patients with critical limb ischemia and enjoys working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to treat these patients.

Dr. Patel is from North Carolina and is married and has a young son. He enjoys supporting local sports teams and loves traveling, water sports, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
