About Me

Dr. Blair Robinson is a pediatric cardiologist with clinical interests in interventional cardiac catheterization, fetal echocardiography, cardiac transplantation, and general pediatric cardiology.

Dr. Robinson began his career in pediatric cardiology in 1999, and since then has used his knowledge to educate others as a Pediatric Cardiologist consultant throughout North Carolina. He also served as a professor of pediatric cardiology at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

Dr. Robinson has published numerous articles and presented at hospitals and medical conferences on various pediatric cardiology topics, with a special interest in Kawasaki Disease. He has also lead several research studies.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, and their three daughters.

Jeff [] was an UNBELIEVABLY great sonographer!! I was blown away by his bedside manner and ultrasound skills. Best sonogram I have ever received! Dr Robinson was excellent. He took time to explain every aspect of our care and answered all of our questions.

The ultrasound tech was gentle and congenial, and did her best to make what could have been a stressful procedure a pleasant and even educational experience for my child. Everyone we encountered was patient, kind, and listened attentively to our questions and provided thoughtful answers. We were so impressed with our care at Dr. Robinson’s office.

The ultrasound tech, Bonnie, was extremely pleasant and helped me stay calm. Dr. Robinson was thorough in his explanation and even drew diagrams for us so we could better understand the diagnosis.

Dr. Robinson was great for all the areas noted in the surgery. The sonographer, Jeff, was excellent! Jeff did the echo/ultrasound while explaining what he was doing to the medical student watching, and he was great!

The experience as a whole was outstanding. My daughter and I were both feeling anxious as the appointment approached. My daughter was nervous that one of the tests would hurt. The lady who brought my daughter in for the initial test said immediately that none of the tests being done that morning would hurt. That gave my daughter comfort. As a mother, I had a different anxiety as I never want anything bad to happen to my little girl — especially medical. It was a sigh of relief to find that my daughter’s heart was in excellent condition and I trusted every word the doctor said.

We loved Bonnie! She did my son’s echo. She was so so patient. She put in Ms. Rachel and helped us get him comfortable. She gave him toys to keep him distracted and even helped sing to him to keep him calm. I was so anxious about how I would keep a 1 year old still for an echo, and she made me feel so much better.

We've been seeing Dr. Robinson for years and it doesn't matter how many questions we have, he always gives us as much time as we need and never once have we felt rushed. He does a great job making sure my young daughter feels included yet not overwhelmed. We love Dr. Robinson!

Every person we encountered made us feel like we were the most important appointment in their day. Made my 5 year old calm and comfortable and handled us with care. Thankfully, my daughter is well, but if she had any other issues later on, I would absolutely come back.

The technician that administered [NAME]'s Echocardiogram was phenomenal! She had him at ease within 30 seconds. [NAME] is very anxious when it comes to anything medical and she had him laughing and even looking at his own heart beating and thinking it's like the cool video games he plays. She was so kind and considerate and just very respectful of a very anxious teenager. I wish I could remember her name.

Excellent is the highest option available for rating the overall experience on this survey. “Excellent” does not come close to describing the level of care a patient receives when in the care of WakeMed Children’s pediatric cardiology. Dr. Robinson goes above and beyond as my sons cardiologist, and I always know he is in the absolute best hands possible. We couldn’t be anymore grateful for having found such a wonderful doctor. He is truly a one of a kind.

We drive to Raleigh from chapel hill because we think Dr Robinson is the best cardiologist in the entire area. He is compassionate, thoughtful, and patient. As my son has gotten older, he takes time to explain things so [NAME] also understands his own health.
