The nurse and doctor were very caring. Dr. Afzal is always willing to listen to any concerns I have. I always feel like the entire staff is always about the patient and is never rushed to get on to the next patient. They treat you with dignity and respect. The nurse who takes your blood is the best technician I have ever had. She makes you feel so relaxed.
Dr. Afzal listened patiently and was non-judgmental while listening to my concerns. I really felt she cared and wanted to help.

The receptionists are polite and helpful. The nurses are kind, relatable, and very knowledgeable. They make me feel comfortable. My doctor is wonderful. She is helpful, listens, relates to me, and has great advice, feedback, and has vast knowledge of steps I need to take for my health, and new medications - how to take them, and side effects. I've already recommended her to others.

Dr. Afzal spent quite a bit more time with me than I was expecting. So many doctors are too fast, and I worry they don't understand (or care) about my concerns. Dr. Afzal was caring and attentive. The nurse who got my vitals was also kind and attentive and spent plenty of time with me too!

I’m so glad and grateful that Dr. Afsal is my PCP. I feel quite confident and comfortable with her care. She does let me be a part of my care! While she educates me and tells me what’s good for me, doesn’t force me into tests that I’m not comfortable taking! That means so much to me! The intake nurse was very thorough. Dr. Afzal always listens & hears my health concerns, it’s the reason why I declared her as my PCP & I’ve been all over Duke Medical, but Dr. Afzal rings true at WakeMed.

Dr. Afzal is excellent at keeping her composure and being supportive. A friend accompanied me to the appointment and was extremely angry at me. She took 2//3 of my appointment time angry ranting and raving. Dr. Afzal paid attention to the .questions and answered them. She ignored the high level of anger my friend had at me. My friend left and she examined me. She was kind, supportive, compassionate, and focused on me, her patient.

A respectful caring attitude shown is/was wonderful. Not being just another body on a conveyor belt allowed me to be ‘human’. I always feel that I can get answers to my questions/concerns. Knowledgeable staff. It has been years since I have felt and trusted this much in the medical profession. It is a totally different story dealing with private insurances. I always felt ‘gamed’ by insurance until I took original Medicare. Part D is not a good program. It makes more sense for original Medicare to cover all aspects of medical care.
