Could You Be At-Risk for Developing Type 2 Diabetes?
Diabetes is a serious disease that can lead to blindness, heart disease, strokes, kidney failure, and loss of a limb. You are at greater risk for developing diabetes if you are age 45 or older, are overweight, have high blood pressure or have a family history of diabetes. Diabetes is also more common in African Americans, Latinos, Native Americans, Asian Americans, and Pacific Islanders.
To assess your risk for having diabetes, take the American Diabetes Association Risk Test.
If you are experiencing any of the following, you may wish to consult your physician. They are symptoms of diabetes.
