At WakeMed Rehabilitation in Raleigh, NC, we offer comprehensive pediatric inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for children, teens and young adults.  Our pediatric specialists are passionate about treating patients who have suffered traumatic illnesses and injuries, such as stroke, Guillain-Barré syndrome, brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and multiple fractures as well as congenital issues.  

WakeMed Children’s Rehabilitation-Inpatient/Hospital

WakeMed Children’s now houses WakeMed Children’s Rehabilitation – a hospital unit specifically for kids, adolescents and young adults recovering from traumatic illnesses and injuries.  WakeMed is the only hospital in the region to offer CARF-accredited pediatric rehabilitation for medically complex patients.  Our young patients and their families appreciate WakeMed Children’s Rehabilitation’s location in the kid-friendly WakeMed Children’s Hospital, which offers several amenities.

  • A rehab gym in the unit
  • A dining/rehab area in the unit
  • Ronald McDonald House Family Room and overnight accommodations
  • Teen room
  • Children’s playroom
  • Kids can be with other kids!

Children's Outpatient Rehabilitation

ACL tear prevention and recovery, developmental issues and feeding and swallowing disorders in infants, and speech/language disorders in children and teens are just a few of the conditions WakeMed Outpatient Rehabilitation’s pediatric physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, dietitians and neuropsychologists treat in our multiple locations in Wake County and Clayton.  They also offer therapy for:
