About Me

Cheryl Dickerson is a certified genetic counselor with over 20 years of experience in maternal-fetal medicine, prenatal and preconception genetic diagnosis. Dickerson earned her master of science degree in human genetics from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA and her bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in Buffalo, NY.

Dickerson is certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and has held a variety of leadership positions within the National Society of Genetic Counselors and the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling. She is a member of the North Carolina Medical Genetics Association. Dickerson works closely with patients who are experiencing a high risk pregnancy, as well as individuals who desire pre- or post-pregnancy consultation about genetic/hereditary concerns or other issues that may place a future pregnancy at higher risk for maternal and/or fetal complications.

Dickerson's clinical interests include helping patients and their families navigate the complexity of prenatal and genetic testing, as well as providing personalized support throughout pregnancy. In her free time, she enjoys staying active with her sons, husband, and Plott Hound, dabbling in interior/landscape design, and spending time with friends.
