Cherissa C. Hanson, MD, FAAP

Dr. Cherissa C. Hanson is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric critical care and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Her areas of interest include general pediatrics as well as the clinical care of critically ill children.

Dr. Hanson graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in biology and Spanish. She went on to earn her medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and then completed her pediatric residency at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. She finished her fellowship in pediatric critical care at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In addition to her board certification she is certified in pediatric advanced life support and advanced trauma life support. She speaks English and is proficient in Spanish. Her academic interests include systems improvement, patient safety, resuscitation, and communication with bilingual families.
