WakeMed News Releases

November 12, 2009
Knightdale, N.C. (November 12, 2009) – WakeMed Health & Hospitals is pleased to announce that Robert (Bob) Adams, MD, a full service family practice provider in Knightdale, has affiliated his practice with Wake Specialty Physicians. His practice, Knightdale Family Medicine, is located at 6905 Knightdale Blvd and offers convenient on-site services, including his dermatology surgery suite, digital X-ray, fibromyalgia and arthritis treatment rooms, and full laboratory services.

“After investing time and energy into building a beautiful new 14,000 square foot medical facility in Knightdale and developing a thriving area practice, I decided in September to partner with Wake Specialty Physicians,” commented Dr. Adams. “This partnership will allow me to continue to grow in the community while still providing affordable quality care for my patients. This partnership also brings additional specialty physician practices to our facility that will benefit my patients with both quality care and ease of access.”

Dr. Adams has been a premier provider of family medicine in Knightdale for over three years. Prior to coming to Knightdale, Dr. Adams served as a Colonel in the U.S. Army, spending 12 years at Fort Bragg in an airborne status with the 82nd Airborne “All American” Division. His son-in-law Josh Victorin just deployed to Afghanistan with the same 82nd Division for his fourth combat tour. He left his 4 week old daughter at Fort Bragg to serve overseas once more. “Josh represents a sixth generation of career military in my family that traces its service to the before the Civil War. I could not be more proud,” he stated.

He is also an ex-Navy SEAL, a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and served 12 years with the Navy as a SEAL before accepting an Army scholarship to attend Wake Forest University medical school in Winston-Salem, NC. He turned in his Navy Commander’s hat for a 2nd Lt Commission to attend medical school in 1987, and subsequently served with the famous Army DELTA Force as their Command Surgeon.

“I came to Knightdale to build a family practice where ‘I can grow old with my patients.’ I love the community and my job, and I intend to stay here for a very long time,” he concluded.

Dr. Adams is board certified in Family Practice and has more than 18 years of experience providing comprehensive family care to children and adults. He has additional training in obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and minor surgery. His practice is located in the Knightdale Medical building, which Dr. Adams designed and built, at 6905 Knightdale Blvd. This new multi-specialty facility houses Knightdale Family Medicine, Wake Heart & Vascular, Vein Care Pavilion of Raleigh, Wake Faculty Urology and Wake Specialty Physicians Ear, Nose & Throat offices.
