CARY, N.C. (July 5, 2006) – WakeMed Cary Hospital recently introduced complimentary valet parking for patients, their families and visitors. The service was implemented to help patients and visitors enter and exit their cars safely, aid patients and visitors in finding their way on the hospital campus and help ease the anxiety of a hospital visit by having one less worry – parking.

“WakeMed Cary Hospital’s focus is to provide outstanding customer service and to go the extra mile for patients and visitors. This program reinforces our commitment to provide comfortable easy access to our facilities,” commented Lisbeth Gierman, vice president of operations and interim administrator, Cary Hospital. “The addition of valet parking is in response to a tremendous growth of services and volume at WakeMed Cary Hospital.”

A team from Cary Hospital selected Healthcare Parking Systems of America to provide valet parking following an extensive due diligence process that included interviewing four independent companies. The Cary Hospital team was impressed with Healthcare Parking Systems of America’s commitment to customer service, training program and knowledge of the Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations’ (JCAHO) standards of excellence.

The service went live on June 26, 2006, and operates Monday – Friday during the hospital’s peak hours from 7 am - 5 pm.

WakeMed Cary Hospital provides quality care for residents of Cary and the western portion of Wake County. This full-service community hospital offers a 24-hour emergency department, Women's Pavilion & Birthplace, intensive care, general medical and surgical care, telemetry monitoring unit, a busy day surgery unit, sleep lab and a cardiac catheterization lab.
