On Monday, August 21, 2017, many of us will experience a rare, total solar eclipse. The following are some creative, fun and healthy space-themed snacks that are definitely out of this world!

Eat the Moon Space Snack

  • Plain rice cakes (no salt)
  • Cream cheese
  • bananas
  • cheerios


  • Spread a thin layer of cream cheese on rice cake.
  • Top with sliced bananas and cheerios.

Fruit or Veggie Eclipse Kebabs

  • Watermelon
  • Cucumbers
  • Carrots
  • Cherry tomatoes


  • Slice up some of your favorite fruits and veggies.
  • Use star and moon-shaped cookie cutters to form shapes.

Star Shaped Sandwiches

  • Whole wheat bread (or whatever bread you choose)
  • Deli ham
  • Cheese


  • Using a star shaped cookie cutter, cut out stars from bread.
  • Fill with ham and cheese.

Space Rocks

Rocket Dogs

  • Take a hot dog, wrap it with Pillsbury breadstick dough and bake according to the instructions on the package.
  • Push a skewer through the hot dogs when done.
